My name is Jim Stewart. I’m currently the tech and engineering teacher, IT person and web designer at The Lang School. I have taught students to program in Python, Java, C#, Scratch, Javascript and ProcessingJS among other things. I’ve been teaching for a very long time; along with technology I’ve also taught most levels of 7-12 math and even high school English. I also work part-time as a programmer at a data startup.
The principle of this blog is that within 30 – 50 years, coding will be as essential to learning as math and ELA. The question is what that should look like. That question will be a central theme here.
